A small woody cycad native to Florida and the Caribbean. The common named is derived from the Seminole native language word “conti hateka.”. The Native Americans leached the roots and stems, dried it and made a paste, dried it into powder, known as “arrow root”. Because it is in the Cycad family, the Koonti Palm is very hardy and easily grown in temperate climates where it can tolerate tough conditions.

Water: Keep planting mix on dry side.
Continuing Care: Suitable for the home or office. Extremely long-lived plant. Transplant when no new growth is occurring in well drained soil
Light: Bright indirect light indoors to full sun outdoors in tropical climates.
Temperature: Performs well at average indoor temperatures.
Fertilizer: Liquid general purpose fertilizer at half rate every other month
USDA Zones: 7-11
