European Trees®

A staple of BloomRite® Gardens' Christmas catalogue, European Trees® add some green to the choice of reds provided by our other featured holiday plants, Amaryllis and Poinsettias. Thanks to their combination of care needs and wide range of sizes and decorative options, these small conifers are appropriate for almost any holiday situation. European Trees® come in two colors: golden green and a darker green. The 'golden' trees are a bright green similar to a green-yellow crayon. The darker variety, pictured here, is similar to the color most people associate with pine trees. This makes the darker plants perfect for decorating with small ornaments, turning them into diminutive Christmas trees.

You can buy European Trees® in a wide variety of pot sizes. The smallest are in three inch grower's pots. Reaching at most six inches tall they are frankly very cute, perfect for planting in larger arrangements or as gifts. From there the pots then gradually increase in size, four inch trees then five inch, six inch, eight inch and more. The largest pot sizes are can be four feet tall or more. Certain sizes can also be bought with an assortment of exclusive decorative options and florist wraps.

Caring for our European Trees® is very easy, and possible with even a busy lifestyle. They also last a long time, meaning they make enduring gifts and will keep on a store shelf very well. All that is needed is enough water to keep the soil moist and some bright indirect light. Cool indoor temperatures are optimal such as something between 50°F and 65°F. European Trees® can acclimatize to full sunshine too, and will grow just fine outdoors in USDA zones 8 through 10. Just be sure to keep it inside when the frost arrives and you will have a holiday tree year after year.
