If you’re interested in a career with Nurserymen’s Exchange here is a general outline of the Nurserymen’s Exchange hiring process. We recommend that you utilize our website to submit your resume.
Submit Your Resume
Submitting your resume online only takes a few steps. Go to the Careers page and click on “Job Opportunities”.
Select a position that is of interest to you and that you feel is a match with your skill set and/or experience and then take note of the Job ID. Click on the "Apply Now" button on the right to go to the application form.
You will then be asked to provide your email address and contact information. At this point you will also be able to attach your resume.
Resume Review
After we receive your resume, we will review your experience and qualifications relative to our open positions, and if your profile matches, a recruiter from the Human Resources Department will contact you for further discussions.
Interview Process
Nurserymen’s Exchange takes great pride in following an interview process that allows both the applicant and the company to clearly establish if the candidate will fit into Nurserymen’s Exchange’s culture and team environment.
- Step 1—Phone Interview
- A recruiter will conduct the phone interview, which typically lasts 30 minutes.
- Step 2—Onsite Interview with Recruiter and/or Hiring Manager
- Initial interview to get a better sense of who you are and what you are able to do.
- This may be a team interview or a sequential one.
- Focus will be on your background and experience as well as discussing the unique culture and environment at Nurserymen’s Exchange.
- At this point, a formal application will be completed and if necessary the background check process will begin. We utilize an outside agency to perform the background check. Depending on the position, the following records are generally researched and verified: employment history, educational credentials, criminal background, driving records and credit history.
- Step 3—Team Interview/Function Interview
We like to gather many different perspectives on candidates and strive for a match with our teams as well as our positions.
- Participants can range from people doing similar jobs or who will be interacting with that particular job or just have a great sense of the Nurserymen’s Exchange culture.
- We put great effort into the hiring process. We expect no less from the candidates we interview and hope to hire. We encourage open communication during these interviews and welcome your interaction.
- Step 4—Next Steps
- At this point, a formal application will need to be completed and a background check conducted. We utilize an outside agency to perform the background check. Depending on the position, the following records are generally researched and verified: employment history, educational credentials, criminal background, driving records and credit history. Because of our process, it can take up to two weeks from your last interview for us to make a decision. Please be patient with us. Your recruiter will be in contact with you all along the way, and will contact you once the feedback has been gathered and the decisions made.
